Big Family Crockpot Baked Beans

My crockpot baked beans has to be one of the simplest, budget friendly, belly filling big family meals in my repertoire. I feature it at least two to three times a month during the cool months of the year and the kids always ask for more.

It's one of those ridiculously simple meals I can prep in 10 minutes or less, turn on the crockpot in the morning and it's ready to go at dinner. With a basket of buttered bread or side of hot dogs for the kids it's always a crowd pleaser.

My hubby is thrilled as his British roots love baked beans (apparently over eighty percent of UK families eat baked or tinned beans at least once a week according to this website. Ninety percent of which is eaten on toast! You're welcome.)

I'm thrilled because it's all done in the slow cooker and is a nutritious meal that everyone enjoys.  It's high in protein, fibre and plant compounds.  Instead of all the additives and sugars found in canned beans I'm saving time & money and nourishing my family with good food.

As a stay at home big family mom of eleven children (who homeschools and runs a home business alongside my husbands local business) saving time is a game I play to win.  One of my best tricks is prepping the night before and this simple crockpot meal takes less than 10 minutes to prep.  I've even shaved the time of chopping an onion by substituting dried flaked onion. Win!
